Secure Server (SSL)
As an extension to your Virtual Server, iServer offers
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption.
This allows an SSL capable browser to communicate with your Virtual
Server in a secure SSL encrypted session. It is often used to securely
transfer credit card numbers and other sensitive information via forms
from a browser to the web server. Charges for SSL are summarized below.

Certificates
SSL uses public key cryptography
("How SSL Works")
for authentication and encryption during a secure session between
a client (your browser) and a server (your Virtual Server).
Authentication is the process of verifying identity so that one entity
can be sure that another entity is who it claims to be. Verifying
identity is done using "certificates" issued by a signing agency
such as Verisign, Thawte, or others. Though you can certainly use
the iServer certificate on your Virtual Server (at no extra cost to
you), we encourage you to obtain a digital certificate for your own
